RANGE SAFETY OFFICER TRAINING

A Range Safety Officer training course is being offered.  Date is October 24 from 9:00-5:00 and October 25 from 1:00 to 5:00.  The training will be held at the range.  Cost is $40.00; checks should be made out to Centralia Rifle Club.

CITY PLANNINC COMMISSION

The owner of Thorbecks, Dale Pullin generated an idea to use the available dollars, if the Equestrian Center doesn’t fly, for a Youth Sports Center indoor and outdoor facility.

The Club approved President, Lee Hayes and Attorney, Steve Carmick to seek fore information, negotiate our position towards their goal, to be “in place” if opportunity comes about to build with grant money.

HIGH SCHOOL TEAMS

High school teams begin practice on November 3rd, and 4th.

CIVIL AIR PATROL

The 58th Basic Marksmanship Encampment (BME) was held October 2, 3, and 4th.  Forty-four Civil Air Patrol Cadets participated.  The event went smoothly, very good.  Basic Marksmanship award was given to Distinguished Expert.  The next event will be held in the spring.

LIGHTING FIXTURES

The club is replacing the high-density lights above the targets; the plan is to replace them with high tech fluorescent lights.  Two new ones were tried out and they seem to be working fine, so we will be adding others.

NRA GRANTS

Three grants are being sought; applications must be in by the November 1st Friends of NRA Banquet.  Raffle tickets for a new car are being sold.  An organization meeting is being held Thursday October 8th at 7pm at the Elks Club.

FUEL TANKS

The oil in the green oil tank is full.  The white tank is nearly empty.  Bob will show how to switch from one tank to the other.  Brad has a hand pump.  Chris Archutick has a barrel pump that pumps 13 gallons per minute.
