GRANTS Sue Carmick submitted an application for a State NRA Grant for $12,000 to tin the last wall. We should hear from them in January 2009, and then the recommendation is forwarded to the national level and we should hear from them by June. SPECIAL THANKS A special thanks goes out to Mike Milano for cleaning the oil tanks and also for redoing the nails on the target stands. Thank you to Thank you to Lee Hayes for repairing the rifles for on-shoots. Thank you to Skip Blank for putting membership forms by the door and a supply in the cupboard to replenish when needed. Also for the donation of a file cabinet for club use. RANGE CLOSED The range will be closed March 21, 2009 for the Washington State Junior Indoor Rifle Team competition. RIFLE PURCHASE The club purchased two Suhl Rifles with Sight Kits. The club approved the purchase of 2 Kimber rifles.
CIVIL AIR CADETS Civil Air Cadets will use the range on November 7, 8, and 9. Steve Carmick will be in charge. BOWLING PIN SHOOT The plan is to start another bowling pin shoot. We need someone to organize it. HIGH SCHOOL RIFLE TEAMS The high school rifle teams use the range at the following times:
Jeff Gillespie suggested the rifle teams do fund raising activities to raise money for equipment. They have applied for a Federation grant for equipment, and the school may purchase some. It was suggested that they need to have another activity to raise money; the teams need a booster club. TRAINING Brad Talbot, Steve Carmick, Rene Minsch, and Lee Hayes took an NRA and Shooting USA 2-day course, which included Coach Level 1 and Small Bore Rifle and Air Rifle instructor classes.
