the club progressing. Neil Harris for
keeping the door lock system updated and doing the
safety briefing for new members. He
also keeps the web site updated, is the membership officer and runs the 22
Bullseye League. Thank you to Calvin
Miller and A work party will be held on April 11th to clean the lead out of the sand. GUN SAFETY IN THE HOME The Self-Defense course is still being planned. The exact dates haven’t been decided yet. The course will include some range firing. People need to know how to shoot as well as when to shoot. A shooting basic pistol course will follow right after. There will we a reduced price for both. There will be four sessions over a two-week period. The cost will be $65 per student. The on range course will need RSO’s. This will be a basic bulls-eye course. BOARD The Reader Board is now installed. It looks great. RIFLES We sold the last of the 541’s. We now have 42 rifles all in good condition. We have the largest Junior Program and the largest stock of 22 rifles. HIGH SCHOOL SEASON High School season is over; however shooters will be practicing on Tuesday nights from 4:30 to 6:30. Not many students have been showing up for practice. Lee will send out an e-mail to remind the kids. FRIENDS OF NRA Calvin reported on Friends of NRA. The NRA Foundation raises money and sends it out to groups for their benefit. They support the Junior Program. They meet every other Saturday for a breakfast meeting. They work at gun shows, and get involved with the youth. The meetings are at the restaurant in the Sunbirds building. Friends of NRA Dinner and Auction is scheduled for May 1, at the Centralia Moose Club. Cost is $30.00. Raffle tickets are 5 for $10.00. Event begins at 5:30PM with dinner at 7:00PM CIVIL AIR PATROL The Captain of the Civil Air Patrol thanked the Club and the Board for the use of the range for so many years. He apologized for the current misunderstanding and requested the Board to reconsider a BME event the end of May. The Board is unable to provide the needed instructors for an event in May. The next BME event is scheduled for October 8, 9, & 10. SCHEDULE FOR HUNTER SAFETY Hunter Safety is scheduled for all day on May 30, July 25, AND August 24, 25, 26, 29. 4:00PM-10:00PM. Can register at class $5.00 CLUB CMP 2009 Cost is $46.00 Club Renewal and Activity Report – State Association Form to complete and send in. The next meeting will be held on May 5, 2009 The meeting adjourned at 7:50 pm. |
